AAU – Ambrose Alli University is state owned university in Nigeria established in 1981. AAU was established by the then governor of Bendel State (now Delta States and Edo), Professor Ambrose Folorunso Alli (1979–1983). AAU was previously known as Bendel State University, later Edo State University, Which was later changed to its current name in commemoration of Prof. Ambrose Alli.
