Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board

Currently called Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) or JAMB- UTME is an entrance examination board for all tertiary-level institutions in Nigeria. The entrance examinations being administered by JAMN-UTME are available for most students who choose to study in various Nigerian public and private innovation institutions, monotechnics, polytechnics, and universities.

JAMB-UTME Examination is basically meant for candidates who have already have concluded their secondary school and sit their external examinations, administered either by the National Examination Council (Nigeria) (NECO) or West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

JAMB is fully involved in the coordination and admission of students into various higher institutions in Nigeria. These include admissions through Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) or admission through Direct Entry (DE).

Apart from administration of university entrance examinations in Nigeria, JAMB also sells direct entry forms to candidates who posses either A’Level, OND, NCE or Degree and which to further their studies in the Nigerian Universities.

How to Register JAMB

JAMB Cut Off Mark

JAMB cut off mark is the least JAMB-UTME score fixed by JAMB that qualifies candidates to participate in the Post UTME screening test for their chosen institution of learning. Many Universities in Nigeria keep the JAMB cut off mark at 180 while others alternate between 200 and 240 depending on courses.
